Medical Science Liaison (Hematology/Oncology, AML)

Location: Chicago, IL; field-based role with extensive travel across the assigned territory

Base pay: $170,000–$210,000 annually

What you will do

• Build and maintain scientific relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, hematology/oncology centers, and research institutions.
• Conduct compliant peer-to-peer scientific exchanges on AML, hematologic malignancies, immunotherapy, biomarkers, measurable residual disease, relapse risk, and clinical trial data.
• Support investigator-initiated studies, study development, clinical trial awareness, site engagement, and research opportunity identification.
• Capture field insights on unmet needs, treatment barriers, evidence gaps, clinical practice, and adoption considerations.
• Synthesize external intelligence into recommendations for Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, evidence generation, scientific communications, and launch readiness.
• Document scientific interactions and insights in CRM or insight management systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Advanced clinical or scientific degree from an accredited institution; PharmD, MD, DO, PhD, DNP, NP, PA, or equivalent preferred.
• At least 4 years of MSL or relevant clinical experience in hematology and/or oncology, including at least 3 years in hematology/oncology.
• Demonstrated expertise in oncology treatment landscapes, healthcare stakeholders, clinical research, FDA regulations, and OIG guidelines.
• Ability to communicate complex scientific information to healthcare professionals, researchers, key opinion leaders, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and digital engagement tools.
• Valid driver's license and willingness and ability to travel up to 70% of the time; compliance with applicable site access, vaccination, or health screening requirements may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AML, MDS, bone marrow transplant, cellular therapy, cancer immunotherapy, or related hematologic malignancies.
• Prior oncology or rare disease product launch experience.
• Established relationships with academic and community hematology/oncology centers, NCI Cooperative groups, clinical trial consortia, or oncology pharmacy leaders.
