Medical Science Liaison (Head & Neck Oncology)

Location: Central California territory; ideal residence in San Jose, California, United States. Field-based role requiring up to 70% travel within the territory, for internal meetings, and congresses.

Base pay: $117,000–$201,250 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and execute a scientific engagement plan aligned with Medical Affairs strategy and approved medical assets.
• Build professional relationships with community and academic oncology opinion leaders and healthcare professionals.
• Conduct balanced, non-promotional scientific exchange and present complex clinical evidence clearly.
• Collect, synthesize, and apply clinical, scientific, competitive, and territory insights to guide engagement and medical strategy.
• Support company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies, including investigator and internal partner coordination.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, R&D, Clinical Operations, global teams, and defined Sales and Marketing partners while maintaining compliance.

Requirements

• Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience, such as PharmD, PhD, MD, or an advanced practice provider qualification.
• Postgraduate experience for doctoral-level candidates, with clinical therapeutic-area experience preferred.
• Strong scientific and therapeutic knowledge, research or healthcare system knowledge, and clinical expertise.
• Ability to gather and analyze data, solve problems, influence stakeholders, collaborate cross-functionally, and assess competitive landscapes.
• Ability to support the Central California territory with up to 70% travel.
• Valid United States driver's license required.

Nice to have

• At least two years of relevant experience, preferably in a Medical Science Liaison role.
• At least two years of therapeutic-area experience.
• Residency or fellowship experience and board certification for clinical degrees.
• Experience exploring and applying emerging technologies such as AI.
