Engineer I - Industrial (Engineering Development Program 2027)

Location: Onsite at the hirify.global corporate office in Pella, Iowa, USA; occasional travel may be expected.

What you will do

• Develop, analyze, and improve value stream maps to identify waste and enhance operational flow.
• Support plant, production line, and workstation layout design, including material flow, ergonomics, safety, and space utilization.
• Create and update basic CAD drawings using tools such as AutoCAD, DraftSight, or SOLIDWORKS.
• Participate in 5S, Kaizen, waste identification, root cause analysis, cost reduction, and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Create and maintain standard work documentation, including SOPs, SOSs, and Digital Instructions.
• Support time studies, cycle-time observations, capacity analysis, and Engineering Change Notice updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Foundational knowledge of lean manufacturing, process improvement, and value stream mapping.
• Exposure to 5S, Kaizen, waste identification, and basic root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with plant, line, or workstation layouts, including ergonomics, safety, material flow, and space utilization.
• Exposure to CAD tools such as AutoCAD, DraftSight, or SOLIDWORKS, and awareness of Engineering Change Notices or formal change-management processes.
• Ability to collaborate on cross-functional manufacturing, engineering, quality, or operations projects and maintain manufacturing documentation.
