Medical Assistant

Location: Onsite at a health center in East Swiftwater, Pennsylvania. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 11:30 AM–10:00 PM; 30 hours per week.

What you will do

• Interview patients and measure vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient health records.
• Prepare treatment rooms and clean and sterilize instruments.
• Administer medications and injections, perform laboratory tests, operate EKGs, and use other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations.
• Support front-desk administration by scheduling appointments, making follow-up calls, and ordering medical supplies.

Requirements

• National Medical Assisting certification from an approved organization, or a certificate/diploma and transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a completed hands-on externship; fully online courses are not accepted.
• Current hands-on Basic Life Support certification for healthcare providers from AHA, ARC, or an equivalent provider.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
• Additional state-specific requirements may apply, including a State Lab Certificate in Nevada and CMA certification from an approved certifying body in South Carolina.
