Innovation Counsel - Litigation (Legal Technology)

Location: New York, United States

Annual salary: $225,000–$285,000, depending on geographic location, experience, and skills.

What you will do

• Support legal technology adoption initiatives and provide attorney-level input for litigation and other practice groups.
• Design playbooks, practice resources, presentations, status reports, and executive briefings.
• Collaborate with innovation, operations, technology, practice management, legal project management, pricing, and change management teams.
• Analyze practice workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and develop strategies that increase effectiveness and efficiency through legal technology.
• Drive legal technology pilots, deployments, proofs of concept, experiments, and continuous improvement programs.
• Develop success metrics, communication campaigns, change measurement processes, and scalable practice group resources.

Requirements

• 4+ years of directly applicable experience, including legal practice or hands-on legal technology adoption experience.
• Juris Doctorate or non-US equivalent.
• Active bar membership in good standing or registered in-house counsel status in relevant jurisdictions, including the assigned office jurisdiction where applicable.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects involving legal technology, knowledge management, technology teams, and practice group leadership.
• Understanding of large law firm financial and work allocation processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, iManage, and other firm applications after orientation; ability to work extended or weekend hours and travel as required.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems and organizations.
• Experience with iManage or NetDocs, Elite 3E, Intapp, Litera, Thomson Reuters, and Lexis products.
• Experience with generative AI solutions used in legal practice.
• Experience with alternative legal service providers, technology usage data, metrics, and data-driven storytelling.
• Strong presentation skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for legal professionals and senior executives.
