IP & Innovation Technical Specialist (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base salary: $184,000–$273,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Partner with Early Pipeline teams to evaluate moonshot concepts, define technical parameters, and de-risk early-stage technologies.
• Lead invention harvesting, patent roundtables, and technical IP training across early and mature project teams.
• Conduct patent landscaping, white-space analysis, prior-art research, and initial freedom-to-operate screenings.
• Support global IP portfolio strategy, competitive moat development, asset reviews, and gap analysis.
• Translate complehirify.global engineering concepts into invention disclosures and coordinate with inventors and outside counsel on drafting and prosecution.
• Collaborate with software teams on AI-led discovery tools, prompt repositories, and procedures for identifying value in patent assets.

Requirements

• Technical undergraduate degree in engineering or science, such as computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, aerospace, life sciences, or materials science.
• Active registration with the USPTO as a patent agent or patent attorney.
• At least 5 years of ehirify.globalperience in patent preparation, prosecution, and IP landscaping.
• Ehirify.globalperience building and managing patent portfolios for deep-tech startups, university technology-transfer offices, or corporate R&D spin-outs.
• Broad technical literacy, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate research and engineering breakthroughs into IP strategies.
• Ability to work autonomously with incomplete information and enthusiasm for AI, generative prompting, and white-space discovery.

• Knowledge of artificial intelligence, robotics, physics, clean energy, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related deep-tech fields.
