Finance Lead (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to work from the San Francisco or New York office

Compensation: $170,000 – $280,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Build and maintain the core financial model, cash forecasts, and runway projections.
• Own revenue recognition, invoicing, and collections for complex pharma and biotech contracts.
• Manage the finance stack, including ERP, billing, procurement, and expense systems.
• Partner with function leads on headcount planning, budgeting, and modeling major commitments like compute and data acquisition.
• Advise on commercial deal structures, pricing, and margins while preparing board and investor reporting.
• Oversee books and report on spend by team, vendor, and program to provide financial visibility to leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in operations, consulting, or finance.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
• Executive-level communication skills and the ability to command a room.
• Comfort working in high-intensity, ambiguous, and fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency in using AI tools to automate tasks and optimize workflows.
• Strong interest in AI for science.

Nice to have

• Experience in a high-growth startup or early-stage company.
• Background in pharma and/or life sciences.
