Senior Variable Compensation Manager (AI Infrastructure)

Location: On-site in San Francisco or Sunnyvale, California, United States

Salary: $175,000–$215,000 annually plus bonus and restricted stock units

What you will do

• Design, implement, administer, and improve traditional and non-traditional incentive compensation programs.
• Own plan documentation, modeling, achievement calculations, validation, payout execution, governance, and operational accuracy.
• Analyze incentive program effectiveness, costs, performance outcomes, market positioning, and budget utilization.
• Partner with Finance, Accounting, Revenue Operations, HRIS, People Analytics, Internal Communications, and HR.
• Build and maintain compensation dashboards and improve data integrity across the HR technology stack.
• Pilot AI and automation tools and develop measurable metrics for incentive program performance.

Requirements

• 7+ years of compensation experience, including experience in startups and large technology companies.
• Deep knowledge of incentive-based compensation programs and end-to-end program ownership.
• Advanced analytical, modeling, forecasting, spreadsheet, and large-dataset skills.
• Ability to resolve data integrity issues, produce reliable dashboards, and simplify complex concepts for senior leaders.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple concurrent initiatives, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong project management and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership.
• Proficiency with Rippling, Workday, or Pave.
• Experience designing incentive programs for non-direct sales groups.
