TL;DR
Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering – National Security (Defense) (UAS/AI): Leading technical solutions engineering for defense customers, covering requirements development, field evaluations, system integration, accreditation, and unit-level enablement with an accent on autonomous flight systems and contested operational environments. Focus on building technical win strategies, guiding UAS integration and airworthiness, and developing a team supporting federal defense programs.

Location: US Remote; travel up to 50%, including regular international travel, is required.

Annual base salary: $172,000–$215,000 plus commission, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

  • Lead, hire, coach, and develop the National Security Solutions Engineering team.
  • Own technical strategy for defense pursuits, evaluations, proofs of concept, field trials, deployments, and customer escalations.
  • Shape requirements with program offices, capability development staffs, and military operators.
  • Guide UAS integration with tactical radios, mission-planning systems, command-and-control applications, and secure networks.
  • Lead accreditation, airworthiness, airspace, flight-clearance, BVLOS, waiver, and range-approval considerations.
  • Represent customer requirements to Product and Engineering through reusable technical assets, reference architectures, and prioritized product feedback.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience, including customer-facing technical work with defense customers.
  • 5+ years of federal government or defense experience in UAS-related operations, maintenance, ISR, testing, acquisition, or training.
  • At least 1 year leading a technical team, including hiring, mentorship, or technical leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience with defense acquisition from requirements development through evaluation, award, and fielding.
  • Technical depth in UAS platforms, RF and datalink systems, EO/IR payloads, software integration and APIs, cloud and data architecture, or government IT security.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain one; ability to travel up to 50% and lift up to 60 lbs unaided.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting SOCOM, military services, special operations units, or maritime UAS operations.
  • Military UAS operator, maintainer, or instructor certification.
  • Experience with contested or degraded environments, EW, GPS-denied operations, secure tactical radios, and mission planning.
  • Experience with RMF or ATO packages, OTAs, SBIR Phase III transitions, ITAR, FMS, or foreign disclosure.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, Palantir, Databricks, or equivalent tools.
