Senior Staff Software Engineer (Fintech Invoicing & Payments)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base pay: $220,500–$298,500 per year, plus eligible cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Drive complex, end-to-end technology initiatives across horizontal architecture layers.
• Build AI-native sales transaction experiences for QuickBooks Online, from React forms to MCP tools and GraphQL/STS writes.
• Design durable, scalable, secure, highly available software for invoicing, payments, and accounting workflows.
• Engineer precise tool descriptions and structured-content contracts so LLMs can operate accounting systems reliably without corrupting ledgers.
• Guide the practical application of AI, including agent orchestration and evaluation of solution accuracy.
• Partner with product, design, payments, platform, and external MCP stakeholders to solve customer problems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
• 7+ years of experience designing complex distributed systems, management products, or business applications.
• Full-stack experience applying AI technologies to user experiences or backend solutions.
• Hands-on experience with AI-native applications, LLMs, prompt engineering, agent orchestration, and evaluation tools.
• Experience with technologies such as SageMaker, Vert.x, LangChain, DialogFlow, or Python, plus React or Angular and Java, TypeScript, Spring, or Express.
• Ability to lead initiatives and collaborate across a highly matrixed stakeholder environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in AWS or GCP cloud environments.
• Experience coding with ChatGPT and Claude, including custom plugins or applications.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
