Senior Electrical Harness Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; office-based role

Salary: $150,000–$195,000 USD annual base salary in the SF/Silicon Valley location, plus equity, bonuses, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and validate custom automotive wire harnesses and subassemblies for autonomous vehicles.
• Develop harness schematics, harness diagrams, system interconnect diagrams, bills of materials, and component selections.
• Own the full harness design lifecycle, including technical reviews, trade studies, outsourced manufacturing, testing, and product release.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing, integration, and external supplier teams.
• Lead root-cause analysis and resolve electrical system issues, including on-vehicle debugging.
• Work with external manufacturing partners and automated harness validation tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hardware development experience, ideally in automotive, aerospace, or a related industry.
• Deep understanding of electrical harness design, troubleshooting, and IPC quality standards.
• Experience implementing and debugging low-level hardware buses such as CAN and Ethernet on vehicles.
• Hands-on engineering experience and the ability to document technical work clearly and concisely.
• Some roles may require verification of US residence, U.S. person status, or citizenship status because of export-control and national-security requirements.
