Senior Engineering Manager, Grafana Frontend (AI)

Location: Sweden (Remote)

Base compensation: SEK 996,819–1,196,182 per year, plus restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Lead the Frontend Platform and Navigation squads, owning performance, delivery, engineering quality, and customer outcomes.
• Coach senior engineers, develop technical leaders, manage performance, and build a culture of trust and accountability.
• Own hiring, team planning, capacity alignment, and delivery from discovery through rollout and measurement.
• Partner with Product, Design, customers, community members, and engineering leaders to shape roadmaps and resolve dependencies.
• Set engineering direction for frontend foundations, navigation, search, accessibility, architecture, tooling, reliability, and multitenant capabilities.
• Lead AI and automation adoption, participate in the engineering management on-call rota, and improve productivity and operational reliability.

Requirements

• Significant experience managing senior engineers, building healthy teams, and developing technical leaders.
• Strong technical foundation in modern web or frontend systems and the ability to evaluate architecture and engineering trade-offs.
• Experience turning ambiguous cross-team problems into clear priorities and measurable results while managing delivery and operational risks.
• Strong product and customer judgement, with the ability to connect engineering investments to user, developer, and business outcomes.
• Clear written communication and the ability to work effectively in a remote, globally distributed organisation.
• Practical experience using AI and automation in leadership work and leading teams to adopt them effectively.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, TypeScript, or comparable large-scale frontend ecosystems.
• Experience leading developer platform teams supporting plugins or extensions.
• Experience with navigation, search, information architecture, resource-management products, multitenant SaaS, or major platform migrations.
• Experience working on a widely adopted open-source product.
