Senior Engineering Manager, Grafana Frontend

Location: United Kingdom (Remote)

Base compensation: GBP 117,949–141,539 per year, plus RSUs.

What you will do

• Lead the Frontend Platform and Navigation squads, managing performance, delivery, hiring, capacity planning, and team development.
• Develop senior engineers and technical leaders through clear expectations, coaching, feedback, and accountability.
• Lead customer, community, and internal-user discovery and translate evidence into product roadmaps and priorities.
• Partner with Product, Design, and engineering leaders to resolve dependencies, manage trade-offs, and deliver work from discovery through rollout and measurement.
• Set engineering direction for frontend foundations, developer experience, accessibility, architecture, tooling, reliability, navigation, search, and multitenant capabilities.
• Lead AI and automation adoption, participate in the engineering management on-call rota, and improve incident response and engineering productivity.

Requirements

• Significant experience managing senior engineers, building healthy teams, and developing technical leaders.
• Strong technical foundation in modern web or frontend systems and experience making architectural and engineering-quality decisions.
• Experience turning ambiguous cross-team problems into clear priorities and measurable results while managing delivery and operational risks.
• Strong product and customer judgement, connecting engineering investments to user, developer, and business outcomes.
• Clear, concise written communication and the ability to work effectively in a remote, globally distributed organisation.
• Practical experience using AI and automation in leadership work and guiding teams in their adoption.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, TypeScript, or comparable large-scale frontend ecosystems.
• Experience leading developer platform teams supporting plugins or extensions.
• Experience with navigation, search, information architecture, or resource-management products.
• Experience delivering multitenant SaaS, major platform migrations, or widely adopted open-source products.
