Embedded Engineering Manager (Storage Systems)

Location: Onsite at the HQ in San Mateo, California, five days per week

Annual pay range: $200,000–$315,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead and grow a highly technical storage systems engineering team through recruitment, mentoring, and people management.
• Own architecture and execution for embedded on-camera storage and distributed backup infrastructure.
• Define technology roadmaps with Product Managers and Hardware teams.
• Drive project execution, product quality, reliability, operational excellence, and user experience.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Firmware, Streaming, Cloud Infrastructure, and Product teams across the camera platform.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership or management of high-performing infrastructure or systems teams.
• Strong systems programming expertise in C/C++, with experience in Go or other higher-level languages preferred.
• Deep knowledge of file systems, flash storage, memory management, Linux kernel internals, device drivers, and embedded systems.
• Experience debugging complex storage or operating system issues in production and building reliable, scalable distributed systems.
• Ability and willingness to work onsite five days per week in San Mateo, California.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Yocto, eBPF, MMC protocols, ext4, UBIFS, or related storage subsystems.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar cloud infrastructure and backend technologies.
