Global Trade Compliance Director & Counsel

Location: Hybrid in St Louis Park, Minnesota, United States

Salary: $172,900–$257,000 annually, with potential eligibility for annual incentives.

What you will do

• Lead the global trade compliance strategy, governance, risk assessments, policies, procedures, controls, and continuous improvement program.
• Provide legal advice and operational guidance on import, export, customs, sanctions, embargoes, end-use, and end-user restrictions.
• Assess regulatory developments and implement required changes across products, customers, businesses, and supply chains.
• Lead and resource a high-performing global trade compliance team and embed compliance requirements into business processes, systems, and decisions.
• Oversee training, communications, restricted-party screening, due diligence, and compliance integration for acquisitions, divestitures, new products, and new markets.
• Manage government inquiries, audits, investigations, disclosures, enforcement matters, corrective actions, remediation, analytics, metrics, and executive reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor degree from accredited institutions.
• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of international trade compliance experience in a global organization, including import and export compliance and global team leadership.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, technology, or complex global supply-chain operations.
• Experience working with customs authorities and government agencies on investigations, disclosures, audits, and remediation.
• Expert knowledge of trade regulations administered by CBP, BIS, OFAC, DDTC, and comparable global agencies, with strong executive communication and change-management skills.
