Senior Counsel, Global Legal Strategy

Location: Remote - United States. Candidates residing in Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Dakota, West Virginia, or Wisconsin are not considered.

Salary: $168,000–$235,000 annually, depending on US location and region.

What you will do

• Advise on international expansion, entity structures, market entry, compliance, and risk across new and existing jurisdictions.
• Provide guidance on global privacy, data protection, cross-border transfers, user terms, notices, assessments, vendor contracts, and consent models.
• Partner with Product and Regulatory Affairs on regulatory pathways, product launches, advertising, labeling, consumer protection, and new market requirements.
• Build and maintain scalable legal templates, playbooks, guardrails, intake processes, review lanes, escalation paths, and compliance metrics.
• Coordinate multi-jurisdictional launches and outside counsel, consolidating country-specific advice into actionable guidance for technical and non-legal stakeholders.
• Advise on trade compliance, including export controls, sanctions, customs classification, ECCN and dual-use analysis, restricted-party screening, and distributor diligence.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant legal experience, including international expansion and global privacy or product regulatory matters.
• Juris Doctor and good standing with at least one US state bar, or an international equivalent in a common-law jurisdiction.
• Strong knowledge of global privacy frameworks, cross-border transfer mechanisms, international consumer law, and marketing law.
• Experience building scalable legal processes, communicating with regulators, and managing outside counsel across regions.
• Ability to advise Product, Regulatory, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams with pragmatic, business-focused guidance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex requirements for executive and non-legal audiences.

• In-house experience at a high-growth technology or consumer health company.
• Experience with wearable technologies, digital health, connected devices, or software-as-a-medical-device regulation.
• Specific expertise supporting EU and UK markets.
