Senior Corporate Counsel, Compliance - Customs

Location: Onsite five days a week in Irving, Texas; Washington DC; or Peoria, Illinois. Domestic relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates. Approximately 5% travel is expected.

Salary: $177,720–$266,590 per year.

What you will do

• Advise business stakeholders on US and Canadian customs and trade compliance matters.
• Support import and export procedures, tariff classification, customs valuation, duty suspension, free trade agreements, and rules of origin.
• Translate regulatory developments into clear, actionable legal guidance.
• Design and improve compliance policies, procedures, and operational controls.
• Collaborate with trade, logistics, tax, commercial, and international legal teams on strategic initiatives.
• Provide practical legal support for global supply chain and business growth initiatives.

Requirements

• J.D. or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• Active Bar admission in a US state or the ability to practice as in-house counsel in the work location.
• Meaningful law firm or in-house experience with US customs regulations and practices.
• Typically four years of progressively advancing job-related experience.
• Knowledge of legal analysis, risk management, decision-making, communication, and problem-solving.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.
