What you will do

• Identify patients and maintain safety, privacy, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance.
• Obtain and document vital signs, pain screens, weights, and heights in electronic medical records.
• Collect and label specimens, instruct patients and families on specimen collection, and perform phlebotomy and EKGs as applicable.
• Report abnormal findings and changes in patient condition to nursing and medical staff.
• Transport patients, records, specimens, blood components, equipment, and supplies according to Institute policy.
• Prepare medical records, maintain clinical supplies and equipment, support patient communication, and assist with research-specific data entry when required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred.
• Two years of equivalent experience in a medical setting.
• BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and technical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team and in a busy setting with patients who have complex needs.
• Phlebotomy certification may be preferred depending on the location.
