TL;DR

Focus on optimizing yield and throughput, characterizing processes with statistical techniques, and resolving complex production-floor problems across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Location: Alameda, California, United States; on-site

Annual base salary: $80,000–$105,000

What you will do

  • Solve production and engineering problems through root cause analysis and validated corrective solutions.
  • Support production and maintain product and process documentation while improving yield, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Design and implement fixtures, tooling, and equipment, including equipment qualifications.
  • Test and validate processes, equipment, raw materials, and products; author protocols and technical reports.
  • Plan and coordinate engineering projects, develop specifications, and optimize processes using statistical techniques.
  • Train assemblers, quality control staff, and technicians on processes, equipment, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other computer applications.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, Lean/Flow Manufacturing, materials, or manufacturing processes is desirable.
  • Willingness and ability to work on-site in Alameda, California.
  • Ability to work in office, laboratory, and clean room environments; lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

  • At least one year of relevant engineering experience.
  • Manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in the medical device industry.
