Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States; hybrid work with up to three days per week from home.

Base salary: $121,000–$206,000 per year for Maryland, Colorado, Washington, and remote workers.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable full-stack applications and services for equity investment technology.
• Build user-facing features, backend services, APIs, data integrations, and reusable components using Java, Python, React, JavaScript, and related frameworks.
• Partner with equity investment professionals and product owners to translate workflows, data needs, and business priorities into technology solutions.
• Lead significant development work, code reviews, small project teams, and improvements to engineering standards and practices.
• Explore responsible AI-enabled tools and patterns for developer productivity, automation, decision support, investment workflows, and user experience.
• Mentor junior engineers, manage technical debt, debug complex components, and provide production support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience, typically with 5+ years of progressive experience.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks, including Java, Python, React, JavaScript, and full-stack technologies.
• Experience with unit, integration, and acceptance testing, data models and schemas, ACID, normalization, transactions, APIs, and abstractions.
• Knowledge of modern full-stack development, cloud-native patterns, and relevant artificial intelligence concepts, tools, or platforms.
• Ability to work directly with investment business partners and translate business needs into user interfaces, services, data integrations, and AI-enabled capabilities.
