Medical Consultant - Psychiatrist

Location: Remote home worker in the United States

Base salary: $133,500–$274,100 per year

What you will do

• Provide expert medical analysis and clear medical direction on claims files and underwriting applications.
• Assess functional capacity, diagnoses, treatment plans, duration guidelines, and prognosis using medical and related data.
• Conduct forensic analysis and provide reasoned medical opinions to business partners.
• Contact insureds’ healthcare providers to gather information and clarify functional abilities.
• Collaborate with medical consultants and make referrals for second-opinion reviews when required.
• Manage high volumes of assigned work while maintaining timely turnaround and supporting team performance.

Requirements

• Professional degree: MD, DO, PhD, or PsyD.
• Active, unrestricted United States medical license required.
• Board certification required for physicians in their specialty.
• At least five years of clinical experience in a medical specialty.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based corporate environment.
• Ability to mentor others and give and receive constructive feedback.
