Project Manager (Defense Manufacturing)

Location: US-SC-Summerville; on-site position with 5–15% annual travel depending on assigned projects.

Salary: $86,100–$124,300 per year.

What you will do

• Manage delivery, financial performance, schedules, budgets, and customer requirements for mid-sized projects or defined portions of larger programs.
• Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, planning, quality assurance, finance, and project management functions in a matrix environment.
• Serve as the primary company contact for customer communications, meetings, questions, and project issues.
• Maintain master project schedules, initiate corrective actions, and lead project review and shipment meetings.
• Plan and coordinate engineering studies, revamp projects, and production of new equipment within required time and budget parameters.
• Manage contract scope changes, change-management documentation, communication plans, and process training.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen due to Department of Defense requirements.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances and approvals.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in a comparable project management role with direct responsibility for equipment or hardware production and delivery.
• Comprehensive knowledge of project management practices, schedule-management tools such as MS Project, financial analysis, and standard business applications including MS Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, earned value management, risk management, continuous improvement, lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• Experience with MS Access.
• Prior experience with defense contracts.
