Engineer I–Software Development (C++)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; onsite, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Travel required 0%–25%.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain a C++ automation QA framework, test cases, and tools for validating complete data center storage solutions.
• Use system-level and custom IOCTL calls to test new solutions and product features.
• Read product specifications and source code to understand expected behavior and implementation.
• Improve the efficiency and capabilities of the automated QA framework.
• Debug and triage test-case and product failures with QA and Development teams.
• Maintain servers and hardware/software components used for continuous automated testing, and track tasks using Agile practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• At least 2 years of programming experience with C++ and Bash shell scripting.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design and programming best practices.
• Strong analysis, debugging, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Experience with multithreaded environments and Linux operating systems.
• Ability to work onsite in Houston, Texas, with physical duties including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and working around others.

Nice to have

• Memory management experience in low-memory environments.
• Familiarity with server storage technologies such as RAID and SCSI.
• Additional experience with Java, Python, or Perl.
