Platform Engineer (Fusion Simulation)

hirify.global is a Munich-based fusion company developing stellarator technology, advanced simulation infrastructure, and high-temperature superconducting magnets for a commercial fusion power plant.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain software platforms for stellarator simulation and design.
• Automate large-scale scientific computing and simulation workflows.
• Build cloud-based data storage and systems for data management, sharing, and exploration.
• Develop web applications that support cross-domain collaboration and knowledge discovery.
• Integrate AI tools where they provide practical leverage.
• Work directly with researchers to apply platform tools to specific use cases and unblock R&D programs.

Requirements

• Professional experience as a software practitioner with a user-first mindset.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Interest in scientific computing workflows, cloud systems, web-based applications, and data management.
• Ability to learn new domain concepts and work effectively in a dynamic startup environment.
• Commitment to working on-site in Munich, Germany.

Nice to have

• Experience with Pydantic or JAX.
• Full-stack web development with React, TypeScript, or FastAPI.
• Experience with cloud services, cloud-based applications, data management systems, modern data pipelines, scheduling solutions, or agentic development.
