Senior Software Engineer (Behavior Planning)

What you will do

• Develop advanced behavior planning algorithms for autonomous vehicles in structured, low-speed airport environments.
• Design and implement key behavior-planner modules that connect mission-level goals with motion-level execution.
• Write and maintain efficient, scalable C++ and Python code and contribute to planning-system architecture.
• Model multi-agent interactions and implement rule-based and learned decision-making for dynamic airside scenarios.
• Test and validate planning algorithms in simulation and real-world environments, analyze performance, and improve system behavior.
• Collaborate with autonomy and cross-functional engineering teams while maintaining technical documentation.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of industry experience in autonomous driving, robotics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in modern C++ and object-oriented programming.
• Python experience for rapid prototyping and testing.
• Strong debugging, profiling, and code-optimization skills.
• Understanding of behavior-planning methods including state machines, behavior trees, and probabilistic planning.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with A*, D*, RRT, or optimization-based path-planning methods.
• Knowledge of machine learning for behavior prediction and planning.
• Experience with ROS or ROS2.
• Experience building high-frequency replanning and low-latency real-time navigation systems.
• Advanced degree or background in Robotics, AI, Mathematics, planning, optimization, or control theory.
