Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Radar)

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing process development for avionics electromechanical assemblies, including PCBA integration, conformal coating, potting, wire harnesses, connector termination, and enclosure sealing.
• Design and qualify tooling, fixtures, automated work cells, and test equipment for precision assembly and functional verification.
• Execute DFM, DFA, PFMEA, control plans, SPC, in-process inspection, and metrology strategies to improve yield and reduce cycle time.
• Scale production from prototype and low-rate initial production through full-rate manufacturing, including line balancing, capacity modeling, and cost reduction.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D, fishbone, and fault-tree methods, and support MRB/FRB dispositions.
• Maintain manufacturing documentation and collaborate with design, integration and test, quality, supply chain, automation teams, and suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with complex aerospace or defense electronics hardware.
• 4+ years supporting avionics or electromechanical assembly and integration, preferably with high-reliability electronics.
• Demonstrated experience transitioning avionics hardware from prototype through LRIP to full-rate production.
• Experience with 3D CAD, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, precision assembly, soldering, crimping, potting, adhesive bonding, and cleanroom/ESD protocols.
• Access to export-controlled information may require satisfaction of applicable U.S. Government authorization, citizenship, or other eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with ERP/MES systems, aerospace traceability, environmental stress screening, vibration, thermal cycling, and functional test integration.
• Direct experience with missile, hypersonic, or high-reliability avionics systems for DoD programs.
• Experience in defense or space environments, harsh-environment electronics, and automation for electromechanical assembly.
• Familiarity with ITAR-controlled programs and classified manufacturing protocols.
