Staff Mechanical Engineer (Robotics)

Salary: $117,000–$145,000 base pay per year

What you will do

• Research fundamental mechanical technology and deliver solutions across robotics projects.
• Brainstorm and prototype technology spanning sensors, materials, actuation, and mechanical tools.
• Collaborate with electrical and software engineers, subject matter experts, product engineering, and production teams.
• Lead mechanical subsystem designs from early concepts through production.
• Balance performance, manufacturability, reliability, torque, stiffness, mass, thermal behavior, and tolerance stack-ups.
• Use simulation, analysis, testing, and hands-on debugging to validate designs and resolve failures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or an advanced degree.
• 4–6 years of related experience, or 2+ years with an advanced degree.
• Strong fundamentals in statics, dynamics, materials, and heat transfer.
• Fluency in CAD and experience managing complex mechanical assemblies.
• Experience with failure analysis, root-cause investigation, production design changes, and full-cycle design validation.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with CATIA 3DX or 3DEXPERIENCE CAD.
• Experience with electromechanical systems, interconnects, sensors, and actuation.
• Experience with soft goods, composites, castings, extrusions, and other material applications.
