Senior Mechanical Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Full-time, on-site at the Sunnyvale, California headquarters, United States

Base salary: $170,000–$185,000 per year. Equity in the form of stock options.

What you will do

• Own mechanical design and integration across the H1, K1, and K7 hardware programs from concept through production.
• Evaluate and integrate electrical components, including compute, sensors, and power systems.
• Develop enclosure, mounting, packaging, and thermal management solutions for electromechanical systems.
• Identify structural, ergonomic, and thermal constraints and resolve tradeoffs with electrical, software, and systems engineers.
• Support test plans, fixtures, validation activities, external partners, and manufacturing vendors.
• Set mechanical engineering direction across programs and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of product development experience with independent ownership of electromechanical hardware from concept through production.
• Experience designing mechanical systems that integrate electronics and taking multiple hardware products into production.
• Proficiency with CAD tools including SolidWorks and Fusion 360.
• Experience with thermal design in compact, sealed enclosures, hands-on prototyping, manufacturing techniques, and materials.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills, independent decision-making, and the ability to set technical direction in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.

• Experience with soft goods, wearables, or body-worn products.
• Experience mentoring engineers.
