Senior Systems Engineer (OpenStack)

Annual salary: $100,000–$215,000

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain OpenStack-based private cloud environments.
• Improve monitoring, observability, performance, and operability of deployed systems.
• Develop infrastructure automation scripts and playbooks with Python, Ansible, and GitHub Workflows.
• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application delivery.
• Support containerization initiatives using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Troubleshoot cloud and automation workflows, collaborate across development, operations, and security teams, and participate in on-call support.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in cloud engineering, platform administration, or infrastructure automation.
• 4+ years of experience with OpenStack or similar cloud platforms, Python, Ansible, monitoring and observability systems, and containerization technologies.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, performance tuning, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD.
• Understanding of networking and security best practices in cloud deployments, with strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, Azure, or on-premises infrastructure.
• Experience with low-level virtualization technologies such as QEMU or libvirt.
• Experience with OpenStack administration and operations.
