Research Associate (GreenAVM Project) (Part-time)

What you will do

• Develop a client-facing web application around the existing AutoGluon GreenAVM property valuation model.
• Build front-end and back-end functionality for stakeholder demonstrations.
• Integrate Land Registry and EPC Register data feeds for live or near-live property valuations.
• Implement SHAP-based explainability visualisations for non-technical users.
• Deploy the prototype to AWS, Azure, or another cloud environment.
• Document the architecture, codebase, data pipelines, and deployment configuration, and provide a technical handover.

Requirements

• Degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience building web applications, including full-stack or back-end development.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Flask, Django, FastAPI, Streamlit, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with cloud deployment, API integration, and external data sources.
• Applicants must demonstrate the right to work in the UK; the role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• PhD or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with AutoML, AutoGluon, SHAP, explainable AI, front-end development, or UI prototyping.
• Knowledge of UK property data, EPC data, or energy efficiency in the built environment.
• Experience in startup, commercialisation, or rapid prototyping contexts.
