Intern, Artificial Intelligence Engineer (AI) - Part Time - Remote (AI/ML): Developing and deploying artificial intelligence models and applications for natural language processing, generative AI, and predictive analytics with an accent on data processing, model integration, and performance optimization. Focus on building RAG and LLM-based solutions, monitoring production models, and addressing ethical considerations such as bias and fairness.
Location: Remote work from home; candidates welcomed from AL, AZ, CO, FL, GA, ID, IN, LA, MD, MS, MO, NC, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, and VA
Salary: $17 per hour

What you will do
- Design, develop, and implement AI and machine learning models and algorithms.
- Clean, preprocess, and analyze datasets for model training.
- Select algorithms and integrate AI models into existing or new systems.
- Optimize model accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Deploy models to production, monitor performance, and document models and systems.
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and stakeholders while considering bias, fairness, and other ethical issues.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university.
- Preferred fields include statistics, mathematics, computer science, business, economics, administration, management, or information technology.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work from a home office with reliable, high-speed internet and sufficient bandwidth.
- Part-time temporary commitment of 12–16 weeks and 12 hours per week.
- Travel to meetings and locations throughout the country may be required.
Nice to have
- Experience with generative AI or machine learning models and AI/ML APIs, SDKs, or applications.
- Experience with retrieval-augmented generation solutions, NLP, prompt engineering, or LLMs.
- Programming experience in Python and knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
- Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
