Applied AI Engineer (LLM)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Define and lead strategies, design patterns, and tooling for prompts, agentic workflows, and LLM-based application architectures.
• Ship LLM-powered products to production and guide the responsible application of modern LLM techniques.
• Build reusable evaluation frameworks and pipelines for non-deterministic AI systems.
• Develop developer tooling and scalable patterns for multiple teams and use cases.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
• 10 or more years of software engineering experience, including significant experience with LLM-based applications.
• Deep familiarity with modern LLM APIs, agent frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Strong Python skills and experience with modern application frameworks.
• Understanding of responsible AI, safety, and policy considerations.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Public writing, conference talks, or open-source contributions focused on LLM application development.
• Experience with multi-agent architectures, complex tool-use systems, and fine-tuning workflows.
• Experience in customer support, coding assistant, analytics agent, or enterprise software domains.
• Experience integrating LLMs into enterprise systems with strict compliance requirements.
