Content Accessibility Lead

Location: Remote within the United States; employees near hirify.global offices may choose fully remote or hybrid work with office attendance on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Travel to the New York City or Reston, Virginia offices is required 1–2 times per year, along with occasional business travel.

Salary: $64,000–$105,000 per year

What you will do

• Write accessible test content, including image descriptions, for hirify.global assessments.
• Review and remediate assessment and test-adjacent content to meet WCAG, Section 504, and ADA requirements.
• Conduct quality-control, accessibility, usability, application testing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Create and maintain image-description guidelines, authoring standards, documentation, presentations, and user personas.
• Adjudicate complex accessibility cases and produce deliverables such as reader scripts and braille transcription notes.
• Advocate for accessible technology users, mentor colleagues, and recommend improvements to tools, processes, and assessment standards.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in accessibility, accommodations, technical writing, or assessment content writing, including 2–3 years in accessibility or accommodations.
• Excellent written communication and demonstrated writing or editing experience.
• Fluency in web-content accessibility, including WCAG and ARIA, and/or universal design.
• Strong organization, prioritization, collaboration, and independent project-management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) certification.
• Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) certification.
• Curiosity about emerging web standards, accessibility practices, and AI-driven solutions.
