Business Operations Manager (Dairy Operations)

Location: hirify.global Vancouver Campus and the Dairy Education and Research Centre in Agassiz, British Columbia, Canada; onsite operational work is required.

Salary: $7,158.42–$10,292.25 CAD monthly

What you will do

• Manage daily facilities, land, equipment, farm, and dairy-centre operations.
• Oversee operating budgets, forecasting, financial reporting, vendor negotiations, procurement, contracts, and invoice processing.
• Supervise, coordinate, train, and evaluate 10–15 full-time farm workers and support contract workers and apprentices.
• Plan facility maintenance, building and equipment replacement, renovations, agronomy, forage-crop production, and manure management.
• Maintain compliance with milk-safety, environmental, waste-management, occupational health and safety, university, federal, and provincial requirements.
• Collaborate with academic, government, industry, community, First Nations, and internal hirify.global stakeholders on research, outreach, committees, and operational initiatives.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and at least three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong business, financial, organizational, human-resource, supervisory, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and project-management skills.
• Ability to manage complex operations, budgets, facilities, resources, safety programs, and regulatory compliance with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and oral English communication skills and the ability to work diplomatically with multicultural stakeholders.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Workday, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom, with willingness to learn additional systems.

Nice to have

• Postgraduate degree or approximately five years of equivalent experience, preferably including business management.
• Knowledge of hirify.global structures, policies, protocols, and organizational relationships.
• Familiarity with hirify.global and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada health and safety guidelines, dairy operations, or the Dairy Education and Research Centre.
