Assistant Mill Manager (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and monitor environmental strategies, policies, sustainability programs, and preventive procedures.
• Maintain relationships with federal and provincial environmental authorities and resolve environmental issues.
• Oversee the MSDS system, chemical screening, trial memos, process changes, and regulatory information related to chemical usage.
• Provide product stewardship information to customers and support compliance with American, Canadian, and EU regulations.
• Manage the ISO Management System, including internal audits, corrective actions, document updates, and annual audits.
• Lead departmental staffing, training, succession planning, performance management, labor relations, and committee participation.

Requirements

• Experience developing and implementing environmental policies, sustainability programs, and compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and experience working with regulatory authorities.
• Familiarity with MSDS systems, chemical screening, product stewardship, ISO management systems, audits, and corrective actions.
• Experience with training, organizational development, succession planning, performance management, and staffing.
• Experience working in a unionized environment and handling labor relations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to represent the organization in committees and cross-functional groups.
