Salary: $125,000–$150,000 USD base salary per year

What you will do
- Plan and lead 1–3 concurrent mineral exploration or development projects across North America, including drilling, electromagnetic surveys, and reconnaissance programs.
- Develop project scopes, cost estimates, procurement strategies, risk assessments, mitigation plans, and execution plans.
- Lead field execution from mobilization through demobilization, managing contractors, production rates, spending, resources, and changing weather and terrain conditions.
- Coordinate with project geologists, data scientists, planners, contractors, and multidisciplinary operations teams.
- Lead site remediation, rehabilitation, contractor performance reviews, and lessons-learned activities.
- Represent KoBold with communities, landowners, municipal authorities, Indigenous groups, environmental bodies, and joint venture partners.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of field operations experience in mineral exploration and mining, oil and gas, or a related industry, with increasing complexity and responsibility.
- Advanced knowledge of construction methodology, seasonal and terrain-specific construction, helicopter-supported exploration, procurement, reclamation, rehabilitation, and closure planning.
- Experience with health and safety systems, incident management, root cause analysis, corrective actions, permitting, land access, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to design and manage complex, higher-risk field programs and supervise staff and contractors in remote and isolated locations for extended periods.
- Must speak, read, and write in English and be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada.
- Valid First Aid Certification is required; Level 3 or Wilderness First Aid is preferred.
Nice to have
- Experience with US or Canadian federal, state, or provincial regulatory frameworks for exploration operations.
- Experience collaborating with geologists and data scientists on exploration projects.
- Experience managing remote projects across multiple jurisdictions and coordinating helicopters, weather, camps, chartered flights, and drilling operations.
- French language skills for projects in Quebec or other francophone regions.
