DreamWorks Feature - Associate Editor

Location: Glendale, California, United States; hybrid with a minimum of three office days per week

Salary: $138,112–$175,000 per year

DreamWorks Animation, part of hirify.global’s Universal Film business segment, produces animated films and series featuring original stories, characters, and immersive worlds.

What you will do

• Run the edit suite and support the Lead Editor throughout production and post-production.
• Maintain the creative integrity of the film and deliver approved cuts in the required format.
• Supervise and participate in scratch, production, and ADR dialogue recording sessions.
• Cut or supervise temporary sound effects and music for the story reel, and participate in final and temporary mixes.
• Coordinate with Directors, Production, Technical Directors, sound designers, composers, mixers, and post-production houses.
• Attend screenings and production meetings, incorporate feedback, and spot the final film with the Sound Designer and Composer.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in animation editing.
• Intimate knowledge of Avid Media Composer.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with at least three office days per week in Glendale, California.
• Eligibility under the applicable Local 700 Editor Guild agreement(s).

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Photoshop.
• Familiarity with FLIX.
• Familiarity with Pro Tools for scratch recording.
• Familiarity with Linux or Unix operating systems.
