Temporary Associate Digital Video Producer/Editor

Location: Washington, DC; in-office position

Salary: $56,000–$58,000 per year, based on experience

The Hill is a digital political news organization and a division of hirify.global, producing editorial video, streaming, print, branded content, and events.

What you will do

• Produce breaking-news video packages using material from press conferences, Congressional floor votes, hearings, and related coverage.
• Set up livestreams for the website, YouTube, and OTT platform.
• Operate OBS for OTT livestreams when needed.
• Develop video series and standalone packages based on political news and policy headlines.
• Collaborate with reporters, editors, video producers, and the programming team on news stories and investigations.
• Create engaging YouTube thumbnails and headlines while using audience and competitive analytics.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience or an internship in a video environment.
• Experience or knowledge in pitching and assisting with video packages.
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop.
• Strong news judgment, interest in politics, visual design skills, multitasking ability, and effective communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, television production, or equivalent experience.
• Availability to work nights and weekends.
