Location: UK - London (London Wall)
Salary: €110,500–€184,000 if performed in NLD Amsterdam (Radarweg).

What you will do
- Lead SciVal’s engineering strategy and technical direction across multiple engineering teams.
- Define architectural standards for search, data, analytics, APIs, and platform integration.
- Lead distributed frontend, backend, data, and quality engineering teams.
- Hire, coach, and develop engineers, engineering managers, and technical leaders.
- Own workforce planning, prioritisation, resource allocation, technical debt, incidents, and operational risk.
- Drive platform modernisation, scalability, reliability, cloud-cost efficiency, and AI-assisted customer experiences.
Requirements
- Significant software engineering leadership experience across engineering managers, technical leads, distributed teams, geographies, and time zones.
- Experience delivering large-scale, data-intensive production software and setting technical strategy.
- Experience with data ingestion, transformation, indexing, query optimisation, search, discovery, and graph-based data relationships.
- Experience introducing AI-assisted development practices and delivering AI-enabled capabilities such as intelligent search, summarisation, guided workflows, or decision support.
- Understanding of analytics-driven systems, knowledge graphs, metadata-rich datasets, and making data platforms accessible to AI agents through APIs, data contracts, metadata, or MCP-compatible interfaces.
- Excellent communication, planning, influencing, stakeholder-management, and roadmap-delivery skills.
