Full-Stack Engineer (AI)

Location: London, hybrid; office attendance twice a week

DeepL is an AI product and research company building secure Language AI products for translation, writing, and real-time voice translation.

What you will do

• Architect and build end-to-end, user-facing features across DeepL’s translation products.
• Develop interactive interfaces and supporting backend systems for consumer translation and enterprise localization workflows.
• Build document translation flows for PDF, Word, and PowerPoint while preserving formatting.
• Design systems for large document states, glossaries, translation memory, and style rules.
• Make technical decisions around state management, API integrations, performance, and product transparency metrics.
• Collaborate with Research, Product, and Design to translate AI constraints into intuitive user experiences.

Requirements

• Strong frontend engineering experience with React.
• Full-stack fluency, including backend development with Python and C#/.NET Core.
• Experience building highly interactive, performant user interfaces.
• Ability to work across complex product requirements, prototype solutions, measure user friction, and iterate quickly.
• Understanding of UI/UX systems, backend complexity, terminology management, and browser performance.
• Availability to work in a hybrid setup from London, with two office days per week.
