Texas A&M University’s Appelt Aggieland Visitor Center welcomes more than 80,000 visitors each year and supports campus tours, recruitment programs, and special events with more than 100 student employees.
What you will do
- Plan and coordinate recruitment activities, open houses, educational events, banquets, staff training, and other campus programs.
- Manage event logistics, including venues, catering, agendas, parking, supplies, guest check-in, presentations, music, accessibility, setup, and teardown.
- Provide on-site support for major events and supervise student workers during programs.
- Process invoices, purchase orders, work orders, inventory, contracts, subscriptions, travel arrangements, expense reports, and office supplies.
- Support visitor center operations, student employee administration, hiring activities, customer service, scheduling, meetings, and records management.
- Evaluate feedback and recommend process improvements, administrative changes, and new initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least two years of experience in office administration.
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
- Strong planning, organization, communication, interpersonal, multitasking, and independent judgment skills.
- Ability to load and transport materials, set up heavy equipment, and provide on-site event support.
- Valid driver’s license required; the role is based in College Station, Texas.
Nice to have
- Experience planning and executing events of varying scale, including logistics, vendors, budgets, and on-site operations.
- Experience with AggieBuy, Emburse, and Laserfiche.
- Ability to develop proficiency with When I Work and Slate.
