Registered Nurse, Occupational Health - Night Shift

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States; onsite at a client health center. Monday through Friday, night shift from 6:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

What you will do

• Evaluate, treat, and prioritize patients within the scope of practice, including injured workers and emergency cases.
• Support the nurse practitioner with patient visits, referrals, scheduling, and care for approximately 6–16 patients per night.
• Coordinate case management, transitional duty, accident investigations, and return-to-work programs with third-party administrators and clients.
• Perform and document medical tests, screenings, treatments, medications, and emergency care.
• Maintain patient records, Epic work queues, medical equipment, infection-control procedures, and end-of-shift handoff documentation.
• Collaborate on workplace safety, injury prevention, health promotion, and regulatory programs including OSHA, DOT, and CDC requirements.

Requirements

• Certificate from an accredited nursing school or an Associate degree in nursing is required; a BSN is preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice is required.
• At least three years of Registered Nurse experience in occupational health, emergency care, or ambulatory care.
• Current hands-on Basic Life Support certification from AHA, ARC, or an equivalent provider is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support may be required depending on the contract scope.
• Experience supporting workplace health and safety programs, including hazard mitigation, health screenings, fitness-for-duty assessments, and return-to-work examinations.

Nice to have

• Previous occupational health, emergency room, or urgent care experience.
• Occupational Health, Emergency Nursing, or Case Management certification such as COHN or COHN-S.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
