Emergency Manager

Location: Hybrid in Columbus, Ohio or Merrillville, Indiana, United States

Salary: $133,400–$200,100 per year, plus a 15% annual bonus

What you will do

• Oversee and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans across the organization.
• Support Incident Commanders and lead incident management teams during emergency response activities.
• Develop and execute emergency response training plans, scenario exercises, and drills.
• Lead after-action reviews, corrective actions, and continuous improvements to emergency plans and processes.
• Build relationships with utility leaders, emergency management agencies, public safety organizations, and government officials.
• Support regulatory filings, technology strategy, ICS role management, plan tracking, and incident record retention.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience developing emergency management programs.
• Completion of ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, and NIMS 700 and 800.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
• Emergency response work may require support outside normal working hours and assistance with tasks outside typical responsibilities.

Nice to have

• State-level or IAEM Certified Emergency Manager certification, or ability to obtain it within 12 months.
• Certification or ability to become certified as a NIMS or ICS trainer or exercise practitioner within 12 months.
• FEMA Professional Development Series completion within one year.
