IT Software Architect - .NET/Web

Location: Hybrid, with candidates required to live within 30 miles of an office in Lincoln, Nebraska; Centennial, Colorado; Madison, Wisconsin; or Brownsville, Texas. The standard schedule is three days in the office and two days working from home.

Salary: $110,000–$170,000 annually

What you will do

• Provide architectural leadership across a portfolio of related applications and maintain alignment across application, infrastructure, platform, and delivery teams.
• Establish architecture practices, design standards, reference patterns, shared design language, and Architecture Decision Records.
• Review designs, facilitate architectural decisions, and guide Agile teams toward pragmatic, business-focused solutions.
• Improve developer experience by removing technology and process impediments, and align platform and delivery roadmaps.
• Lead responsible adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices across development teams.
• Drive cost optimization, technical debt remediation, secure system design, and architectural improvements following incidents.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a 6C Federal security clearance are required.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years of software development experience and 2–3 years as a technical or development leader.
• Strong experience with .NET, C#, ASP.NET, Microsoft IIS, RESTful web services, service-based architecture, message-based processing, and SQL Server or relational databases.
• Knowledge of software architecture, full-stack development, secure development practices, SDLC, source control, CI/CD, and application integration.
• Hands-on fluency with AI development tooling, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to influence technical direction across distributed groups.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of NIST compliance and ISSO2.
• Experience with Agile or iterative delivery approaches.
• Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server, GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, or Microsoft Teams.
