TL;DR
Accountant / Financial Management Analyst (Federal Accounting/GFEBS): Supporting Department of Defense financial management operations by resolving accounting discrepancies, reconciling commitments and obligations, and strengthening financial data accuracy with an accent on federal accounting, resource management, and GFEBS-SA transaction processing. Focus on investigating IDoc failures, analyzing Unliquidated Obligations, supporting audits and period-end close, and improving financial execution processes.

Location: Fort Bragg, North Carolina, United States; onsite support for a Department of Defense client

What you will do

  • Research, analyze, and resolve unmatched transactions and accounting discrepancies.
  • Investigate and clear IDoc failures in GFEBS-SA and related financial systems.
  • Review, reconcile, and adjust commitment and obligation balances, including Unliquidated Obligations.
  • Support month-end and year-end accounting activities, financial reconciliations, audits, and compliance initiatives.
  • Identify root causes of financial processing errors and recommend process improvements.
  • Coordinate with budget analysts, resource managers, program action officers, government personnel, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or at least eight years of relevant professional experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance required; TS/SCI preferred.
  • Experience supporting Department of War financial management, budgeting, or resource management activities.
  • Working knowledge of federal accounting principles, commitment accounting, obligations management, and fiscal law concepts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with clients to understand and address their needs.

Nice to have

  • Experience with GFEBS or GFEBS-SA.
  • Prior experience supporting U.S. Army financial or resource management operations.
  • Experience resolving accounting discrepancies, unmatched transactions, and ULO reviews.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with strong customer and vendor relationship skills.
  • Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies.
