Calibration Technician (Metrology)

Location: Onsite in the laboratory in Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States; includes onsite customer work in the surrounding tri-state area and travel of up to 25%.

What you will do

• Perform precision calibration and verification of bore, thread, pin, and gage blocks, measuring tapes, calipers, micrometers, height gages, and indicators.
• Operate surface plates, optical comparators, Universal Measuring Machines, Labmaster-type systems, and bench micrometers.
• Execute measurements according to established procedures and work instructions.
• Record results in calibration software such as IndySoft and interpret specifications and tolerances to determine pass/fail status.
• Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and maintain the proper care, handling, and storage of standards and customer equipment.
• Support calibration work at customer manufacturing and industrial facilities while following safety and quality procedures.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with measurement equipment and the ability to perform repeatable, accurate measurements.
• Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• U.S. Persons only due to ITAR export-control requirements; eligible candidates must be U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.
• Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, work overtime as needed, and hold a valid driver’s license record.

Nice to have

• Experience operating a Universal Measuring Machine, including Labmaster-type systems.
• Calibration or manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with calibration workflows, documentation practices, and IndySoft.
