Quality Inspector II, Dimensional Inspection, Second Shift (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite, second shift from 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM, Monday through Friday. The role has a baseline expectation of a 50-hour workweek and may include occasional overtime.

Salary: $28.12–$42.18 USD per hour, plus a 10% second-shift differential.

What you will do

• Inspect machined components for compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Use calipers, micrometers, profilometers, thread gages, pin gages, and other precision measurement tools.
• Document inspection results, identify nonconformities, and prepare nonconformance reports.
• Perform visual inspections for burrs, damage, scratches, and foreign object debris.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the quality laboratory and metrology tools.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of mechanical inspection or quality control experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, with intermediate knowledge of Y14.5 standards and GD&T.
• Proficiency with inspection tools and measurement techniques.
• Understanding of helicoils, keenserts, AS5202 port threads, and surface finishes.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, communication skills, and ability to collaborate.

Nice to have

• Machining experience and the ability to identify root causes and corrective actions for nonconformances.
• Experience operating or programming Romer/Faro Arm or CMM equipment; Verisurf experience is preferred.
• Experience with quality management systems such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems or Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
