System Administrator (Linux/Windows)

Location: On-site in the Washington, D.C. metro area; occasional domestic travel may be required. U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance are required, with the ability to obtain SCI.

What you will do

• Build, configure, and administer stand-alone, air-gapped development and integration networks.
• Rack and configure hardware, switches, routers, firewalls, and core services including DNS, NTP, and DHCP.
• Administer Linux and Windows servers, Java application servers, web services, virtual machines, and user access controls.
• Apply operating-system, hardware, software, and security patches while performing vulnerability assessments and audits.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system issues; replace defective components and maintain backups.
• Document configurations, maintain ticketing and technical records, support compliance, and coordinate system changes with stakeholders.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain SCI.
• At least five years of system administration experience.
• Experience configuring air-gapped networks without internet access.
• Knowledge of managed network appliances, switches, routers, firewalls, and time-code systems.
• Linux administration experience, including startup scripts, automated systems, and shell scripting.
• Understanding of RAID and other redundancy techniques, with the ability to work collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Experience administering Linux and Windows servers in classified or stand-alone environments.
• Familiarity with STIG compliance, Nessus or similar vulnerability-scanning tools, and ATO processes.
• Experience with Cisco or Juniper hardware, VMware, Proxmox, KVM, Apache, Nginx, or Tomcat.
• Security+, RHCSA/RHCE, CCNA, Linux+, or similar certifications.
