Senior Software Engineer (Backend, Python)

Octopus Electroverse is building a large-scale virtual electric vehicle charging platform with web, mobile, automotive, fleet, and white-label charging experiences.

What you will do

• Develop and improve pricing, discounting, and commercial mechanisms for the core charging product.
• Improve financial reporting accuracy and payment success rates across current and future payment providers.
• Expand charging subscriptions for greater flexibility and scalability.
• Work in a small specialist team supporting multiple cross-functional product areas.
• Help Operations resolve payment-related customer issues and support Finance with accurate reporting systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software development experience, preferably with Django or similar Python frameworks.
• Experience monitoring and debugging applications and infrastructure.
• Experience maintaining asynchronous processing systems such as AMQP and Celery.
• Ability to design robust, fault-tolerant software and apply common security practices.
• Familiarity with continuous integration, continuous deployment, and Git.
• Ability to discuss product vision and features and propose creative solutions within a team.

Nice to have

• Experience with subscriptions, recurring payments, billing, and invoicing flows.
• Experience with commercial models, pricing, and tax in an international context.
• Experience with KYC/KYB products and flows.
