Technical Accounting Manager (SaaS)

Location: Remote | Canada

Salary: CA$97,730–CA$130,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Research and document technical accounting positions for complex and non-routine transactions, including bundled hardware and SaaS arrangements, contract modifications, and new product launches.
• Draft IFRS accounting memos and position papers covering revenue recognition, leases, share-based payments, impairment, and financial instruments.
• Monitor new and amended IFRS pronouncements, assess business impact, and lead implementation efforts.
• Review contract structures with Legal, Sales, and Product teams and advise on accounting implications before deals close.
• Own and maintain the accounting policy manual across all legal entities and support the practical application of technical positions during close.
• Act as the primary technical accounting contact for external auditors, support M&A due diligence and purchase accounting, and train the broader accounting team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or CA designation required, or currently in progress.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, with public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Deep working knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 15 revenue recognition and other judgment-heavy areas.
• Experience with multi-element or bundled revenue arrangements and strong technical writing skills.
• Canadian citizenship or eligibility to work in Canada is required; a criminal records check is required upon hire.

Nice to have

• Experience with hardware-enabled SaaS or a similarly complex revenue environment.
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency reporting structures.
• Experience working directly with external auditors or implementing new accounting standards.
